Donate

One of the easiest ways to get involved with Seb's is to make a donation.

We continue to raise funds for the important projects going on in India and any donation, no matter how small, can make a huge difference in the lives of the people in Tamil Nadu. Whether you are thinking of making a onetime donation, sponsoring a child or setting up a recurring donation, you will find all the information you need to do so on this page. 100% of every donation, without any administration fee, goes towards our projects. Our currencies buy at least ten times more in India than in the UK or USA.

We are a registered charity and Gift Aid may be reclaimed on tax-deductible donations.

Where does my donation go?
  • £20 per month to sponsor a child at the MBKG Pannai Orphanage, Kasam.

  • Buy handmade soap from the Zaila Project for only £3 per bar!

  • £390 donation to a rag-picker in Vellore. This money will be used to help set up a micro-finance for a new business. This will help the rag-pickers get off the streets and start jobs which will support their families, and help get them out of poverty.

  • £2,500 donation to build a new school in a remote tribal village. This school can be named after a family member/ friend.

Sponsor a Child

The Sebastian Hunter Memorial Trust currently sponsors 20 children from the MBKG Pannai Orphanage.

The MBKG orphanage offers a stable home for many children. Currently, 80% of the children are sponsored by private donors. The children come from a variety of backgrounds. Some are orphans, others are may have at least one surviving family member – be it a mother, father, grandparent or older sibling. Most of the families are quite poor, and death is unfortunately a common occurrence. Death or desertion of a spouse can leave a single parent unable to financially support themselves or their children. If a parent remarries, the new spouses family may refuse to accept children from previous marriages as part of the new family, leaving the children with nowhere to go. MBKG Pannai provides a home for these children. All MBKG Pannai children attend Kings Matriculation School. The orphanage admits children up to the age of four.

Sponsoring a child cost £20 per month and the money goes towards the children's room and board, school fees, new clothing, and health costs.
