The Joshua Brearley Higher Secondary School Block opened on 30 March 2010. Stephen and Margaret Brearley donated and helped raise funds for this block in loving memory of their son Joshua, a friend of Seb.

The new science block is part of the Sebastian Hunter Higher Secondary School, in Arni, and includes three classrooms, a physics and chemistry lab, as well as a preparation room for the teachers to organize experiments.


With the completion of this Science Block, the Sebastian Hunter High School acquired higher secondary school status and now educates students up to 18 years of age.

The opening of the Science Block was celebrated in March 2010. The celebrations included moving speeches by two Bishops, both former pupils of the school, and a speech by Margaret Brearley in well received Tamil.
